Members Site & Community Forum Update - EV SSL
We've rolled out an important update to the site today, in the form of new & expanded SSL support.
As you may have noticed the forum is now served over SSL. While we've offered SSL on the members site forever (literally from the day we opened it for business) we have now also added it to the forum (because all login's should be secure). More importantly, however, this new certificate is an EV Certificate. While little has changed from a technology standpoint - we're still using AES-256 encryption - this new certificate turns your browser's address bar a cool green color and unmistakably identifies us to ensure that you're connected to the real Refresh Web DevelopmentŪ (no joke, we registered it) only available right here at RefreshMy.com.
But don't you guys use PayPal?...
Yes! And that won't change. Refresh never sees (and does not have access to) your financial information because we use PayPal to process all members site order payments (PayPal also uses an EV Certificate). So, you may ask, isn't this a bit overkill? Perhaps. It might be described as the technological equivalent of showing up to a knife fight with a bazooka. But we do it because we love you.
